My Bio

Hi, I’m Omar Peña, and I’m running for City Council in District 3 (Northeast Fulshear). I’m stepping up because I want City Hall to be more connected to everyday residents—showing up, listening, and being clear about what’s happening and why. I’m a neighbor ready to bring new energy, common-sense solutions, and real accountability.

I’m a native Texan from Harlingen with degrees in engineering, finance, and data science (TAMU–Kingsville, UHV, and Texas A&M—go Aggies!). After more than 20 years in the Houston area working with major companies and building small businesses in Houston and La Grange, I’ve learned how to take complex issues and turn them into clear, practical solutions.

I’ve lived in Fulshear for five years and stay involved in our community. I attend St. Faustina Catholic Church and participate in the FACTS program. I’ve volunteered with Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity, completed Leadership Houston (Class 34), stay engaged with Katy ISD events, and coached youth sports for four years. I lead with teamwork, service, and accountability—and that’s exactly how I’ll serve Northeast Fulshear on City Council.

My Key Issues

Community involvement in decision-making

I believe the best city decisions happen when residents are informed, heard, and included. That means clear communication, easy ways to share feedback, and regular opportunities to participate—like meetups, town halls, surveys, and open updates. My goal is to make City Hall more approachable and responsive, so decisions reflect the real needs of Fulshear families, neighborhoods, and local businesses.

Promoting voter participation and education

I believe a stronger Fulshear starts with informed residents. My goal is to promote civic participation and make City Hall easier to understand by sharing clear, plain-language information about what’s being discussed, what decisions are coming up, and how they may impact neighborhoods and families.

Attracting and retaining businesses

I want Fulshear to be a place where **small businesses can start, grow, and stay**. That means a city government that’s **clear, consistent, and responsive**—so entrepreneurs aren’t stuck navigating confusion or red tape.
